Sandra Gil and Olivier Perriquet
Olhos de Agua
September 28 - November 13, 2021
Sandra Gil and Olivier Perriquet have been working together for 2 years.
Sandra Gil creates art installations which call together space and vision and invite us to question the tactile dimension of what we see. Her installations are the traces of a process, often frenetic and obsessional, whose result is still light, fragile and ambiguous.
Olivier Perriquet practices live cinema and cinema in installations. With a particular fondness for optics and vision machines, he designs devices where science and fiction meet and invite us for a singular experience of time and space.
As part of their project, both artists took up a residency in Portugal, comprised of several phases of research, spaced out in time and in the area.
Olhos de Água questions the vision and production of images in a common space: the ocean. Mixing both their practices and respective fields of research, they focus on the collection and study of diverse living organisms, of whom they question the ability to see and produce images.
