Nicolas Floc'h
Initium Maris
In "Initium Maris", the first part of his series "Paysages productifs" (Productive Seascapes), Nicolas Floc'h reveals the underwater seascapes in western France, from the coast of Brittany to the Loire-Atlantique coast; through his images, he has captured their state at a given point in time. The photographs, mostly in black and white, taken in natural light with a wide-angle lens, offer up a panorama of the typologies of seascapes and large coastal forests. Shot at between 0 and 50 metres below sea level, they take us into the depths of the living, as far as the eye can see.
