Bernard Lallemand

Posthumous : Chapter 1

10 December 2008 - 24 January 2009

artconnexion presents at 9 rue du Cirque in Lille the first chapter of Posthume, a short film by Bernard Lallemand, made during the artist's residency at artconnexion in 2008.

In the tradition of Neocortex (2004-2005), digital cartoons made from road maps, and Time code erroné (2006), a simultaneous projection of two videos, Posthume, Chapter I deals with the cohabitation in our brain of retinal images and mental images. The artist is interested in the altered perception of the reality that surrounds us. This perception seems to indicate a form of absence from the world that would operate from movements on urban networks. The images of these movements, shot with the video camera of a mobile phone, are infiltrated by those of memories that resemble parasites or interference manufactured by the author's memory. They are taken from film sequences that give form to personal events, the history of cinema replacing the intimate history. Also presented is L'interview, an interactive work created in 2007 which proposes an organic cartography of the "major arteries" of the city of Rouen by associating them with those of a human brain and with sound extracts from the interview given in this city to Christophe Kihm.
