Vacances apprenantes (Educational holidays)

After the first lockdown in 2020, the French Ministry of Education set up the Vacances apprenantes (educational holidays) programme with the aim of putting school knowledge back into practice. artconnexion was asked by the Maison de Quartier du Vieux-Lille Godeleine Petit to run workshops at the Collège Carnot.

During a week, the students were invited to take part in a series of workshops and to explore notions related to ecological resilience, biodiversity and sustainable development through artistic practices. The workshops allowed the students to discover the work of two artists: Nicolas Floc'h and La Société Volatile, whom artconnexion supports in the production of their projects.

A visit to the Lille Museum of Natural History was organised to follow in the footsteps of contemporary artists who mix art and sciences. This session allowed the students to have a better understanding of the relationship between art and science.

The last session was a time of restitution in the form of an exhibition designed by the teenagers (posters, labels, scenography...). Parents and friends were able to discover the young people's productions.
