Bananalab - “An Inland Voyage”

Produced by the Société Volatile in collaboration with the artist Armin Zoghi following their creative residency at Idem+arts in Maubeuge. Bananalab is a multi-use boat subject to aquatic and artistic experiences. It shares the title and the journey of Robert Louis Stevenson, An Inland Voyage.

L'utopie fantôme

Presentation of Léonie Young's artist's book, L'utopie fantôme, produced following her creative residency at Idem+arts in Maubeuge. L'utopie fantôme explores the history and disappearance of a hangar storing airships at the beginning of the 20th century in Maubeuge, by mixing photography, video and archive images.

"Since the beginning of last year, Léonie Young has been flying over Maubeuge.
Seen from above, everything is there: commercial areas, factories, housing, in housing estates or in the city centre, a cemetery, middle schools, a railway station, fields in the vicinity and a winding river. However, the airship hangar has disappeared.
It is this part of history and missing architecture in the landscape that Léonie Young has investigated.
